Civic Decisions
Research Principal
Boston
I am interested in new forms of civic enterprise at the nexus of civic tech and civic media.
I want to learn about your research, your technologies, your enterprise models and your heartfelt hopes for civic progress.
My experience includes working with Governing Magazine, The National Center for Bicycling and Walking (a program of the Project for Public Spaces), The Safe Routes to School National Partnership and MassDevice.
Before forming my own business I served as Vice President of a newsletter publisher; Director the Venture Capital Network at MIT; and held management and sales positions at Inc. Magazine.
I am a life-long activist at a local and state level, serving in appointed and elected positions in local government and in leadership positions in political campaigns; as pro-bono adviser and board member for a variety of non-profits and board. On a free-lance basis, I have authored feature articles, edited business books and penned political cartoons. Before starting the Civic Decisions "Practically Speaking," blog I the authored the NewMeetia Blog.
When I am not working I am biking, xc skiing, or kayaking. I earned an MBA in finance and marketing from the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago and a BA from Williams College.
